About Erykah's Journ.e
The ultimate goal of my blog is to share my life experiences within my own personal JOURN.E in Social Work. The good, the bad, and the ugly. I want to be as transparent as possible in reaching my aspirations within my career. In hopes that this leads you starting your own personal JOURN.E I pray this blog touches at least one person’s heart to realize that you have everything it takes to reach your fullest potential.
Bachelor's of Social Work
Erykah earned her Bachelor’s of Social Work degree with my minor in psychology from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. She is a first-generation student. Thus, Erykah understands the importance of workforce development. Using these experiences, she has been able to have the same professional growth rate as non-working social work students. Erykah would not be able to strive for success if not for her involvement on campus, including the networks she has built during her time on campus. Joining organizations in college has helped her build a bigger network professionally and personally. Erykah used these connections to broaden her horizons, learn new skills, and meet individuals that will allow her to further her career path.
Erykah gained practical experience in a safe environment with engaging with a diverse group of people. Her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, The National Council of Negro Women, The Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement (as a CARE Ambassador), The Vice President of Student Affairs, and DREAM have all supported her through her journey. Working with these organizations, she had given back to the local community, developed ties to that community, and saw, even more, the importance of social work and its impact on a community.
With all of this, I would love to recommend you to START your JOURN.E.

She was determined to make a more significant impact on the world, she became skillful in identifying professional development opportunities and positions that supported her career growth.
